October's Lottery Winner!

The winner is AMY!!! Congrats! I picked by clicking a random "follower" pic : )
Amy doesn't have a blog, so if you're reading this Amy, please email me: DSKJewelry@gmail.com

Thanks for reading!
Happy Halloween!

We had our first trick-or-treaters just now, they're so cute!

Minh told me a sad story about how his candy was stolen when he was a 3rd grader :(
He went with his cousin (who was in high school at the time), but some evil kids attacked him, covered his eyes and mouth and took his bag of candy.

He says he was so scared he didn't let go of the bag, but they kept tugging and the bag handle ripped off. :( He said he was crying so much that parents were asking him what happened. Everyone felt bad for lil crying Minh so they gave him extra candies. He said he ended up more than he had before because everyone felt so bad for him.

Poor Minh, he always tells me sad stories from his childhood.

Basically, I'm going to be a psycho bitch mom one day. If anyone messes with my kid, they're going DOWN!!!!!!

P.S. Our latest trick-or-treaters brought a german shephard with them! What a great idea. My kids will bring 3 dogs with them lol.

Anyhow, show me "upset" lol.

If Only I was an NBA Star

I keep blogging on the wrong blog, lol oops, but yeah..my latest obsession really is real estate stalking.

Minh & I drove around Bellevue, found our way up to Clyde Hill...and OMG the homes areAMAZING! One gated home even had a WATERFALL in their front yard and view of Lake Washington...

Check out this house we saw for sale, it's $4.5 mil marked down to $4.3 mil...IT HAS ITS OWN ELEVATOR!!!!

4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, 6090SF
Like I said...if only I was an NBA Star!

But who says we can't look?

^_~

Will one of you ladies buy it, and let me come over?

Look at that VIEW!
You have to wonder what the owner of this home does for a living...
It's a custom built home, and you seriously need to take a look at the pictures.
It's so sweet!

It's Almost Oct. 31st!

My first DSK Lottery's Drawings are coming up soon!

The end of the month, Oct 31st / Halloween

Prize for my peepz on the personal blog, a lipstick holder from Storables (also found at The Container Store)

I just thought it was so cool, and it was definitely my "high light item" of October.

One lucky reader will be getting this in the mail : )

How I will pick my lucky winner is by picking randomly from one comment left in the month of October, and/or the a random "follower" thumbnail pic on the right side.

I have one going for the DSK Jewelry blog as well, that one is a set of Swarovski Moon Pendants.

I'll pick the winner the same way. I think I have my prizes for November's Lottery picked out and I'll be posting those Nov. 1st.

:) Minh's currently cooking Pineapple Chicken Curry, it smells pretty good. I did help him! My hand got really tired stirring the chicken. I think it's cause I use a lot of pliers and tools to make jewelry on a daily too. Anyhow ~!

Have a great evening!

Steph

She's Back!

My unnie is back blogging!!!

Welcome back to blogger Jennifer!!! I need you to keep blogging because we no longer live 1 mile or 5 minutes apart! We now live 3,000 miles apart! I need to stalk your life!!!

(winter of 2007?)
What's funny is that grey is J.yO's favorite color, and black is mine lol
This picture captured the "real" us
I love & miss you so much!

In other news, I hear Minh vacuuming the downstairs, ahahhahahahaa
I am training him to be one of those guys who does all the cleaning. You know..dishes, laundry, bathrooms, carpets, yard work.

EDIT* I'm sitting upstairs blogging and he's yelling up the stairs asking if we're out of paper towel. I yell back it's in the PANTRYYYYYYYYYY, he's like I can't find it, I can't find it.

I get pissed off, go down stairs look in the pantry and there they are! PAPER TOWELS. I take the paper towel roll and beat him with it. That's how it done. I think he'll know where to look for paper towel next time. What a worthless man! jk, but still. Don't bug me when I'm blogging or watching TV, or youtube. ..or playing on the computer. and/or making jewelry. end.

A Weird Kind of Day

Today has been a weird ass day. I didn't sleep until 12:30pm earlier today. I spent all night awake making bracelets because I just couldn't sleep! I also experimented with makeup. I spent about 1 hour watching random Japanese "Doll Eyes" tutorials (haha an before and after circle lenses videos-I'm weird, but it's fascinating!).

Everyone makes Doll Eyes look so easy..lol I fail to make it look normal. I definitely cannot pull of this look in daily life. (I totally edited the picture too) I also used liquid eye liner for my lower lash line, which is really harsh looking in RL (real life). Basically...I think I forgot how to do makeup ever since I started being a hobo, and not wearing any..

Anyhow..the weird day part. I ended up passing out around noon today. I wake up from sounds of super loud footsteps literally on the house. I was like wtf. I woke up called Minh..the foot steps felt like it was getting closer to me (my room is on the 2nd floor). I jump up and look out the window and I see the hood of a green truck with the door ajar. I freak out. Hide in my bathroom..CRY talking to Minh about how freaked out I was, so he told me to call 911. I called 911 explained what's going on..they sent out a cop car and kept me on the phone with the dispatcher. I was talking to her about how our neighborhood is pretty nice, I dunno what is going on. I was so pissed at Minh because this is literally my first few days at home alone.

Basically, when the cops got there the truck had left. Creepy right? The two cops were really nice, they walked the perimeter of the house, then came to my front door. At the time the dispatcher on the phone told me it was safe to leave the bathroom. She had asked me if we had any animals. I was like...what do you mean? Like wild animals? She said, no dogs, cats. etc.
And I say..well I just got a hamster. haha I still had no idea why she asked. And then she laughs and says..I think the two officers can handle a hamster. LOL

Turns out the owner of the house had called a roofing company to get an estimate WITHOUT telling us! He apologized and said that they weren't supposed to just come out on their own without an appointment. Basically, I was super mad the whole day, then Minh came home (FINALLY). Overall...there are no perks in living in a house that's too big for you. You just flip out a lot easier. I think this experience confirms that I'm going to get at least two german shepherds when I move in 7 months. lol I'm so used to living in my 10x12 dorm room that having so much space really freaks me out, especially when there are no other people around most of the day...

Anyhow..Minh's back, he took me out to dinner (we need to stop eating out still, but it's been a few days since we saw each other).

We went out for crawfish in Chinatown Seattle. The crawfish wasn't any good. I did like the dozen oysters we had though. I'm a big raw oyster eater. I love going to the casino because they always have the oyster bar on seafood night. I still feel like my stomach is burning from the cajun spices.

Interesting Day/McDonalds + Spilling things

I spilled a whole container of pearls earlier...FML
I will leave it for Minh to pick up because I've felt abandon these past few days!

I did go to Target after I woke up & showered at 4:30pm to pick up Michael Buble's new album. Target had an Exclusive CD/DVD (which can be also found on his website according to one of our fellow bloggers).

The CD (Non-Special Edition Cover) - I did not get this even though I'd prefer this cover

The Target Special Edition CD/DVD - I got this one.
I honestly don't think he's attractive (maybe he needs some circle lenses? haha I don't know). He's not bad looking, but just not handsome to me.
Personal preference I guess...lol

He's actually kind of seems like a jackass... at least that's the conclusion my 17 year old sister and I came to after watching one of his DVD's.

He's presents himself as super cocky, but whatever I look past that for him because I'm in love with his voice. hahaha

If you've seen his in concerts & behind the scenes you know what I'm talking about.
Plus, he drinks & smokes on film. Nothing against both...but he's already appears to be a cocky jackass..add in scotch & a cigarette...FAIL.

Anyhow...that's enough of me being me to an artist I LOVE.

lol, I do love him, but I love him for his voice & style ^_~

After Target, I went through McDonalds after and the guy who took my order, took my money, stopped and asked me, "Has anyone ever told you, you are fine?" (of course he said it with more enthusiasm)

My response: ....uhhh, my boyfriend, HAHAHAHA (except he doesn't use that word) LOL
Minh's more umm polite in his choice of words?

McDonalds guy: "well they need to tell you more often cause you are fineee"

Pretty awkward, but I laughed it off to make it less awkward during the time that he did not give me my change until he stopped talking....

Also, my bag tipped over and all my fries spilled to the floor of the car... yeahhhh FML

I should start blogging about makeup again. This blog has become like a xanga to me, hahaha

A Little Bit Down (Boring Text, Lacking Photos) LOL

It's Day #3 Minh's been out of town, but that's not the reason I'm feeling the blues.
I sit in my messy room wondering how it got so messy? I just moved in this house 4 weeks ago! I realize that I have A LOT of stuff. Growing up, I didn't really have money so I always had to ask my mom for the things I want (mostly Hello Kitty stationary, or trinkets). So I always felt like my room wasn't cool because I didn't have anything to fill it up with, just posters that I order from the school's book sales lol..or library sales whatever it was they had. I always envied my friend's rooms because it was so well furnished with beautiful everythings all around!

Around high school, I started getting more interested in my mom's business. She had her own beauty salon. I spent most of my h.s. years there in the shop meeting new customers everyday. I think I changed my nail polish every other day back then! I started to earn some money helping my mom with chores, answering the phones, and doing nail art. Guess what I spent all my money on? Every damn thing at the Morning Glory store! haha I have sooo many piggy banks, and I started collecting them. I was able to fill my room up with all the things I wanted (that was affordable at the time). Then...COLLEGE happened and I was a broke ass again, lol. I depended on the book money my mom gave me to survive. I did get a job my last year in college as a research assistant/ TA position. But that wasn't much money hahaha. I also discovered what a credit card was thanks to Minh..who suggested I get one. Basically, that was a terrible idea. Thank the lucky stars that we won so often at the casino that I could pay off my credit card bill. Ask some of my friends..last year I had a big debt. I'm so glad I paid it off...but now I have personal debt, and business debt. But I think in the long haul I'll be able to start making money to pay the debts, and save save save!!!

But now I sit here...with too much stuff. lol I'm a big pack rat, I can't let much go. I always think of the memory tied to the item. I have a very good memory so I always remember when I bought something and the reason why I bought it. My memory has always helped me through school. I didn't have to study as hard when it came to written material, or sitting through lectures. I just need to rehearse it once and I'm set. It helped in band class too lol I played the clarinet and we would have to practice, practice, practice. But now, that memory makes it hard to part with my things! Everything I come across something I like, it comes home with me. I'm a impulsive shopper. I don't think twice =/

I drag it home, forget about it..find it later and think to myself..oh I remember how badly I wanted it. It's just one of those things! You always want what you can't or don't yet have!

Can you picture me in a bead shop? I go crazy, I always buy the whole stock of an item. I can't help it! It's almost an addiction. I've been trying to organize my workspace tonight and just gave up. Worst yet.. I spent $80 at the Japanese $1.50 store buying plastic containers to store my crystals & silver findings...ahhh FML. I called Minh and told him about the damage I did today. I SPENT $80 on PLASTIC lol. He kind of gave me a lecture, which I well needed.

He told me that my mom called it, she told us both that I will realize how hard it is to live on my own. Minh's been gone..and I have to make my own food. lol I was so spoiled at home. My mom would cook twice a day...we'd always have food in the house, fruits, snacks, anything!

Now..it's just so much harder to have a good home cooked meal. I find myself snacking on random food just to not be hungry lol because I'm too scared to go outside the house without Minh. Note, I'm in a new city..I have no family..or really any of my close friends but Minh =/

Well, I lie. My jewelry is my friend. I could sit here 18hrs a day (which I've been doing lately) playing with my crystal beads. There's always something to do at my desk. There are 100 ideas going through my head at once and just not enough hands to bring them to life. I think I would be super depressed if the internet didn't exist. lol

Well..I'll try to make the best of things.

I realized that I dislike the house I'm living in, it's too big. We don't need a big ass house in the hills. It's foggy. It's steep! Driving sucks! I hate backing out of our driveway because it's a hill in itself...My bumper hits the curb, everytime I roll down the hill into the street. =/ Plus, it's a bit expensive to live here..I'm from the Midwest! Everything there is affordable, especially cost of living.

I think I liked living at my parents house...care free! & FREE lol

Overall, I think I'm sad because I miss home, and Minh.
He's the reason I moved here and when he's not here I feel out of place.

fo realz.

Okie..less depressing stuff that nobody cares about.

Time for pictures of my Winkie bear! P.S. Minh doesn't like rodents... lol we got into a fight the day we brought her home >.< Her Cinderella style "running wheel." She two, one her case..omg she runs all night! Then drinks tons of water, and runs again. I need to learn from her, haha

Everyone calls her a mouse, but she's not!
She's just grey & white like one, which I love : )
It's so hard to take her picture b/c she moves so fast!
Winkie's Habitat

I'll try to get her face soon, lol
I made a video, but I haven't uploaded it yet.
It's a Winkie workout video.

LOL

Life + Atelier Swarovski by Stephen Webster

It's about 4:30AM, I'm just awake being a night owl because I have no special plans tomorrow. Minh's went on a business trip to Vancouver, WA (his hometown actually). He'll be gone until Monday. So it's just Steph in Bellevue, WA...alone! Well..I do have 2 other roomies, but they're working professionals who have 8-5 jobs, and pretty aren't ever home after work. lol.
So in our kinda big house lives 4 roomies, about 10 gold fish, and 1 hamster.
We all came to the conclusion that this house is too big for all of us...we don't even use all the freaking space. Utility bills suck..living at home fo' free is the best deal ever.

lol

I guess tomorrow will be my first taste of independence. I'm done with college (which was only an hour away from my parents), I just live in Washington now. lol
It's not like I can go visit my parents over the weekend like Minh can anymore.

So..a lot is new with me! But I can't show you all tonight.
I have a new pet ^_~ her name is Winkie! She's a fancy bear hamster (she's grey & white with a spot of grey in her white fur)

I just thought Winkie is the cutest name, and she's definitely my cuteness inspiration for my Everything Charm Bracelets

I'm currently into the Almond gelatin, you know that asian kind..where they put in fruit cocktail? lol basically I just ate a whole tray of that tonight. Yum!

I don't cook much..so being now that I'm a "grown up," I really have to learn to fend for myself!
Minh & I made a huge pot of Spaghetti the other night and ate that this week. It turned out delicious!

I can't wait to try my hand at a few more simple dishes. If you have simple recipes you'd like to share, please let me know!

My skill level is weak, lol I can boil water, cook rice, fry and egg. Make a mean bowl of ramen, and delicious cereal! I'm pretty good at making tea too. : )

I'm so inspired by all of you ladies who blog food! Everything looks so delicious!
Eating out was starting to get expensive!
Minh & I spent a daily average of $75/day out and about eating. Sometimes more sometimes less. It is a pretty bad habit.
That's breakfast, lunch, dinner...frozen yogurt, etc. Kettle Popcorn at the marketplace too!
It gets pretty expensive in restaurants. Ice tea $3.50? Seriously?

Minh can cook too, it's just we're still adjusting to the new house.
We don't have the pots and pans that I like to use.
I think I have to visit Macy's tomorrow, or somewhere I can buy quality kitchen gear.

I've tried buying from TJ Maxx & Marshalls, but there seems to always be a flaw in their product. I bought a wok..and it tips backwards because the handle is too heavy!
Basically, a safety hazard. Minh said we could legally blah blah blah b/c of the danger risk. lol

My bf is so funny sometimes, and I just learned that he doesn't like hamsters..or rodents. I've always thought he was joking. haha Back in MI he wouldn't get one because we'd be moving soon..and now that we've moved... he got really upset at me for bringing home a pet..........

Oops!

lol.

Ok..I'm talking about random stuff since I haven't blogged in so long. Who even reads a blog without pictures??? Seriously. Time to show you what I really had in mind for this blog post!

I was browsing Crystallized, Swarovski's "other" store (more affordable I guess).
I came across the collection Atelier Swarovski by Stephen Webster (click to visit the website)

It's called Le Petit Chaperon Rouge Bracelet $1300

It really wow-ed me. The price tag also really wow-ed me too since it's Crystallized Modular Swarovski Crystals he's using. But I think the value comes in the design & the fox skull.
I've attached a photo of the beauty.

I really felt that this piece is genius, it's simple yet intricate. or I'm just a sucker for coppery/smokey Swarovski Crystals.

OOh, I also went to a Jewelry Fair in Vancouver, WA last weekend, I left with 5 pieces of jewelry by Shiva. I'll have to post them for you to see : )

Her jewelry was really Indian inspired, as in India : )

I basically bought a lot of Smokey Topaz jewelry lol, and some AB pieces.

I'll show ya tomorrow!

Also, on the Crystallized site, they had a new piece using the new Swarovski Crystallized Mosaic Crystal Pacific Opal (also comes in White Opal).

I thought that they marked up this bracelet by $150 because $230 is pushing it especially since it's silver-plated, not rhodium (which is in the platinum family) like they have in the Swarovski Stores..well maybe that's why this is a Crystallized piece. Anyhow, I thought it's beautiful that they used crystal cubes, those have always been one of my favorites.

LOL, I hope you liked my jewelry analysis!

So basically, I bought the 4 disc set of Planet Earth for Blu-Ray..and I plan to spend the next few days watching that, and cleaning my work area : )

I'm using a Japanese hair dye, I'll definitely take pics.
It will be my first time experimenting with hair dye from Japan!

Later!

I'm a Jackpot Winner! (finally)

^ Jackpot WINNER!
Move over Minh, it's Steph's time to shine!

Minh & I stumbled into Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, WA for a free dinner that I won. Anyhow..we got to putting money into the slots and Minh wont a $1215 jackpot on the $1 slot max bet of 5, so basically a $5 bet each push. Moving on..

We find ourselves in the high limits, and I was just playing the $5 slot machine like I usually like to do, and bam I win 7 Double Multiplier, Double Multiplier. Which equates to $2000.

Woohoo! I finally got my first tax form from a Washington casino!

If you win more that $1200 in a US casino you have to pay taxes, which sucks but whatever lol free money!!!

MY LUCKY BRACELET! IT's PROVEN TO WORK, lol so far ..me! I vouch for this bracelet. haha

The other day..aka two days ago Minh hit a $4,000 win..and the week before that another $4,800 win...basically he's a lucky BUM. All he does is "honey give me some money" and he wins! He says my money is lucky so he always ask for mine and doesn't use his! Not that he has any to begin with :P

Anyhoo! I got myself a gym membership! To 24 Hr Fitness, should be interesting...! It's always hard to go back and DIE in the gym. But I hope I stay committed and get healthy!

This bracelet reminds me of all my coffee candies, and viet coffee lol
I can't drink too much coffee because my heart starts racing like a mofo.

It also reminds me of my Heidi..I miss her!
She's lives with my parents in Michigan :'(

Thinking about Hot Rollers?

After I watched Johnny Lavoy, Ford Model's video on Old Hollywood Glam hair, I want to get some hot rollers! I've never truly tried using them before. If you know me, you know I suck at hair! I didn't discover the hair straightener until I was in 10th or 11th grade! My natural hair is a weird wave / flips in all the wrong directions kind of hair. I'm hoping for my hair to get longer so I bought Crew's conditioner for MEN! lol, my boyfriend's sister Van (who I loveeeeeeee) told me that her hairstylist used Crew's Cooling Mint Conditioner on her every time she went to get her haircut and she noticed a big difference in her hair length. Note she gets her hair done once each month. When I saw her, I noticed how long her hair was! Not only was her hair long, it looks very strong too. lol. So we took a trip to Ulta earlier today in Vancouver and I picked up the Crew Cooling Mint Shampoo & Conditioner. She only uses the conditioner and believes it really has strengthened her hair. I wanted to try the shampoo too just for fun. I figured if I can't use it, I'm sure Minh can since it's men's products.

The large bottle cost $22 at Ulta, the smaller one costs $9.95.
Van said they also carry it at Nordstrom's Rack for a discounted price. I don't have much time to shop so I just wanted to pick it up at Ulta while I was there.

I bought the large bottle conditioner, and the smaller in shampoo. I've never really spent money on shampoo & conditioner before apart from the Japanese products, but those are never over $20 a bottle. Anyhow, I'm going to give it a try, and see how it works out. My hair takes a very long time to grow =/ I kind of regret getting the bob. I really miss my long hair! I think I felt more confident. Anyhow! Back to hot rollers!

Can anyone suggest a good set of hot rollers?

Also, I met Audio Push this past weekend since Minh's brother (owner of Party Prince Entertainment) hired them for his event on Friday night. They're a hip hop group who has the song "Teach Me How to Jerk." They were pretty good, very well rehearsed lol.

It was interesting riding in the van with them..they'd blurt out singing and busting moves..anyhow..yeahhhh I got to meet some rappers. : )

The song is aite..the dance is pretty cool though!

I would love to try out a new look tomorrow, I have yet to organize my makeup! I can't believe how much I've accumulated over the past year. I have an "L" desk now..can't wait to lay it all out (for fun!) ; ) And picture purposes of course ;)

Blast from the Past

I loved this hair cut so much, but I haven't been able to find someone to recreate it! This was me at the morning temple ceremony for my uncle's wedding 3 years ago! I've changed so much!

Love you my fellow bloggers!

Steph
