Pretty Glitter

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend. It's surprisingly very sunny today in Seattle, however it's still pretty cold. The temperature is in the high 40's. I wish I could take the dogs to the dog park, but it poured yesterday so the ground is probably muddy! I plan to take Wally on a walk after I get some of my household chores done. Wally loves going out while Timmy absolutely hates walks. lol He's such a weird dog. He loves the comforts of home.

I have been pretty glued to the TV this weekend. I watched Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Kingdom of Heaven, and a ton of HGTV Love It or List It, Property Virgins, and House Hunters! lol

I have not been shopping very much lately. I have a twenty dollar Nordstrom note just waiting for me to use up. lol I've busy been cleaning out and clearing out the house. It's an amazing feeling to donate six bags of clothes! The house feels so much more fresh and clean. As some of you know, I spend three weeks in Michigan with my family. I didn't pack very much and I was completely and happy without all of my stuff. It made me think about all the things I have in Washington. I have way too much stuff!! My bathroom is filled with beauty products. Do I really need to have twenty blushes? lol I do not!! I'm so happy with not adding to my collection of anything these days. I want to live and spend money on experiences and not things that only add to the clutter.

I've learned to find happiness in doing things rather than having things. :) It feels so good!

"Collect moments, not things."

If I buy something new, I make it my mission to find things to get rid of in my house. If I buy a new pair of shoes, I'm donating an older pair or two! Less is more, and it's so true!  It's hard to explain, but it feels amazing to live with less clutter and be more organized. I really want to donate all of our music CD, but the sig other isn't too happy about my idea. lol I think he has the same problem I do with things. We both tie emotion with our things so it becomes emotional to get rid of things!

We recently moved one of our law offices up North into a new building so we have a lot of office furniture just chillin in our house. : / I'm not too happy with a giant glass conference table, cubicle walls in my living room, but we haven't been able to find anyone interested. I need to re-list everything on Craigslist and pray they sell!

In other news, Nickel is currently staying with us for a few days while his Momma is on vacation in Cancun. I forgot how much work it was to have three dogs again! They bark so much when they're together especially if a car dare drives by our house. lol I have a lot more clean up work to do in the backyard! Today I need to clean the backyard, take the trash out, and do the dishes. Maybe I'll get to vacuuming the downstairs. I get so much satisfaction out of having clean carpet!

I feel like I'm better at cleaning the house when I'm talking on the phone, or have a friend over. Is anyone else the same way? I get a surge of energy to get things done. When I'm alone, I feel like I'm more of a slacker since no one is watching me. lol

I'm on Day #2 of Crest White Strips. I think I have to wait another day before I apply set #3. My teeth are so sensitive already! But I definitely see a whiter smile. :)

I have to drop off Timmy tomorrow at Banfield for his comprehensive exam, and drop Wally off to get groomed. My life currently revolves around my dogs. lol
OPI's new Lights of Emerald City glitter! There are glitter squares!
It's definitely one of the more unique polishes by OPI.
OPI Lights of Emerald City over MAC Mischievous Mint
How pretty is the glitter? I can't wait to try different looks with it. :)
I'll letting go of my bottle of MAC Mischievous Mint for $10 if anyone is interested. Thank you!
I need to learn some new dishes to cook. I fell of the cooking bandwagon last week. I want to try to cook at home everyday this next weekend. I'm going to go get started on my chores now! I'll talk to you later! :)

January Life Update

Hey everyone! I've been in Michigan visiting my family for the past few weeks.
It's very chilly here! It's currently 3 degrees outside and snowing. My sister was supposed to fly back to Boston today (MLK Monday), but her flight got canceled and she won't be able to fly out until Wednesday. We're experience what has been nicknamed on the news as an "Arctic Blast." At least we get to spend another two days with her. :) Julia and I have been spending time catching up with our cousins and Michigan relatives. We went to see Silver Linings Playbook last week and it was a really good romance-comedy-drama. Julia and I love Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence! They're both amazing actors.

It's incredibly wonderful to be home and taken care of by my family. I really wished I live closer to my parents and family. My Mom and Aunt are such amazing cooks! I feel so spoiled when I'm home.
My Mom and Aunt are constantly competing to out do one another with their Vietnamese cuisine. I'm always stuck in the middle! The good news is I've been learning how to cook some more Vietnamese dishes. :)

My sweet friend Jedy sent me a really sweet care package and I wanted to share some of her favorite things with you.
She sent me so many sheet masks which is perfect for cold weather. I do what I can to keep my skin hydrated in freezing Michigan!
How cute is the Hello panda stamp? I love little details. :) Thanks Jedy!
