More Deborah Lippmann, Essie Finds at TJ Maxx!

Earlier this week, Monday to be exact, Marisa and I went to TJ Maxx (Factoria) to continue my hobby search for Deborah Lippmann and Essie nail polishes. :D
Deborah Lippmann, we did find! I also found more Essie polishes. Yay.
The only exciting part about buying these polishes is because they're $5.99, whereas they once retailed for $16.00
But then again, who can resist the adorable made for Juicy Couture pink little bows?
 Left: "Oh! You Pretty Things"
Right: "Pearl Queen"

I'm was pretty excited to find these two little bottles because "Naked" now has two new friends!

Deborah Lippmann makes the prettiest nail polish bottles!

The Essie purple is called "Bangle Jangle," and I'm pretty sure the green is "Absolutely Shore."  The name label was missing when I bought it last weekend from the TJ Maxx in Kent. Essie polishes were $3.99, so I can't really complain there!  The Kent, WA TJ Maxx also had 3 Guerlain Bronzers for $20.  There were two light shades, and one dark.  I didn't buy them because I'm saving my money for Benefit Hoola Bronzer. :D
Essie "Absolutely Shore"
I super like this shade! It's the perfect pale green creme polish color.  I like it more than Revlon "Minted."  In my mind, it's more of a sophisticated green nail polish. :)
However, the formula was pretty horrible to work with!  It was super thin, runny, and overall drove me nuts. I got super cranky while painting my nails. (Minh was asking me questions and I was not in the mood to talk!) lol I needed to concentrate on applying the polish. I allowed each coat a good amount of time to dry before applying the next, but even then I got streaks!  I had to apply 3 full coats before I could get the polish opaque.
I'm headed out to Ulta today to look for Essie "Mint Candy Apple."  Thank you for all the comments on where to find it!  I really appreciate the help. : ) I've been looking at every Target in Seattle, but I haven't come across it yet.  I've never seen MCA in person so I'm mighty excited to make a trip to Ulta!

$5.99 Deborah Lippmann at TJ Maxx!

There was buzz in the blogosphere about Deborah Lippmann nail polish sightings at TJ Maxx.
The best part, they are selling for $5.99/bottle!
I stopped by the TJ Maxx in Factoria (Bellevue/Seattle people know which one ;)) and found a lonely bottle of Deborah Lippmann "Naked," on one of the beauty shelves.  I also saw 3 bottles of Essie polishes going for $3.99 ~ the bottle style before they started to print "Essie" in white.

Finding this polish was the highlight of my morning!
 Deborah Lippmann "Naked"
I almost bought this polish in the past but decided on "Satin Doll" instead.
"Naked" is more of an ash beige.  It's very opaque and looks perfect with two thin coats!

Right: Deborah Lippmann "Naked"
Don't you just love the cute little pink bow? I'm assuming this was a left over from a holiday, or special edition collection? Does anyone know? :D I'd love to learn about it!
Two lovely friends I know from blog have told me Naked is their favorite nude polish. :D
I was thrilled to hear it!  Best $5.99 I've ever spent at TJ Maxx this year. ;)

I'm going to be checking back often to see if I can pick up more colors.  I saw an Instagram pic from someone who found three different colors.  That means they do exist!  I haven't seen anyone mention seeing a glitter just yet.  Everyone check your TJ Maxx! :P

I just love the "search for the hyped beauty product game." lol  It's the beauty blogger addiction.

Wally had his follow-up/check up appointment at the vet today, and he's official back to his Wally self.  :D
My life partner and I had dinner with his cousin Adrien at Moonlight.  It's a favorite Vietnamese Vegan restaurant on Jackson in the International District (Chinatown) of Seattle.  The food was just okay because they used so much sugar in their cooking.  The chef/cook must be from the West(?) of Vietnam because I heard they like their food/entree's sweet.  I do suggest their $12.95 Moonlight Sampler.  They offer imitation meat at Moonlight which really makes it a unique place to eat.
Doesn't the meat skewer look like real meat?
It tasted just like real meat too!  How they do it? I have no idea, but I know it's made of some combination of soy plus others. lol  My mom told me not to eat it too often because my grandma says it's made from such and such..but then again..Asian mom's will hear a rumor and believe it to be true...
Anyhow, you wrap everything up to create your very own vegan spring roll. : )
Dip it into an imitation fish sauce, and enjoy.  It was really good.  If you live in the Seattle area, I'd suggest trying the Vegan menu at Moonlight!

Saturday night, we went to see Ted with bf's family.  It was pretty funny movie, but I'd probably get more of the jokes if I watched Family Guy.

I also picked up my favorite wine from Trader Joe's!!
I loveee Lambrusco and I learned that they carry two versions at TJ's for $5.99/bottle!
My two favorite wines (so far in life) are Moscato D'Asti, and Lambrusco.
They're the two most easy to drink "dessert" or "picnic" wines.
I learned about this (cheap) delicious sparkling wine from one of the friends I met in college at MSU.
You can find a bottle at any store for $7.99-$9.99, but the fact that Trader's carries it for $5.99 is pretty awesome.  I've never had the white version before today.  I really like the taste, it's similar to the red, but hint more sweet.

I can't wait to try the Trader Joe's red tomorrow. :D
Cheers!

Craving Deborah Lippmann "Sweet Dreams"

Happy Saturday!  I saw the two new Deborah Lippmann nail polishes in my e-mail. I wanted to see if I could create a color similar to the new "Sweet Dreams" with what I already had in my nail polish stash.  This is my first attempt with OPI "If You Moust You Moust" and Revlon's "Grape Fizz."
I realized I should have used my Essie Luxeffect "As Gold As It Gets," because of the holographic glitter flecks!
Essie Base Coat (This is great!  It prevents yellowing of the nails.)
OPI "If You Moust You Moust" (Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection)
Revlon "Grape Fizz"
Dior Top Coat (It's dries super fast, and it's also super thin for a top coat.)

"Sweet Dreams"
"Ray of Light"

"Sweet Dreams" and "Ray of Light" are the two new 3-D Holographic nail lacquers from Deborah Lippmann.

You can find them at Deborah Lippmann online, and Nordstrom.
They retail for $18 each.

I'm trying to resist buying "Sweet Dreams" for now, and just drool over nail blogger swatches, and reviews. : )  Let me know if you picked it up and your thoughts on the polish!

New Deborah Lippmann Glitters!

Stairway to Heaven
iridescent icicle (glitter)
$18

"Lying on the beach, looking up at the stars gave me the idea for this soft yet shimmering shade. Made from all large glitter, it is modern and fairy princess all at the same time." -Deborah Lippmann

I Love The Nightlife
groovy graphite (glitter)
$18

"Disco is back! I have never lost my love for disco. Believe it or not, I was the Arizona state disco dancing champion. I was inspired by the huge disco ball that was in every dance club, back in the day!" -Deborah Lippmann

I was at Nordstrom yesterday and saw "I Love The Nightlife" for the first time. I was with my friend so I couldn't buy it because she keeps my old bad shopping habit in check! lol Do you have friends or family members like that in your life? I'm grateful for them! But it is always excited to stumble across a new item at the mall even if you don't bring them home with you. ^-^

I might have to put these two on my wishlist for now!

You can take a look at them at the Deborah Lippmann website here.
I love browsing and reading the descriptions of her collection (got to stay current, you know!).

Did I ever tell you Deborah Lippmann tweeted me once? :D
She's so cool!

p.s. Does anyone watch Ellen? I've been loving her "As the Tide Turns" segment!!
It's hilarious!

I also have been obsessed with some new shows especially "The Chew!" Clinton Kelly from What Not to Wear is awesome and so are the rest of the hosts of the show. :)
I also have been tuning into Anderson, Revenge, Whitney, and Up All Night.

We just watched Love, Wedding, Marriage with Mandy Moore and Kellen Lutz (Emmett in Twilight). :D It was a not so funny romantic comedy, but overall feel good movie. I never realized Kellen Lutz was so handsome. It's nice to see him in a leading role and not with pale white skin. :D

EOTD: MUFE Aqua Eyes 3L Blue, NOTW: Golds!

Hey everyone! I hope you're having a great Friday. I have a FOTD (face of the day) and NOTW (nails of the week) to share with you today. :D
I've been really into blue eyeliner since I recently found a few of my blue eyeliner pencils.

For this eye makeup I used:
Bobbi Brown Banana eyeshadow on my lids
MUFE 3L (Blue) eyeliner and MUFE 14L (White Pearl) on the inner bottom corners.
I went with a very simple approach to wearing blue eyeliner as you can see. :)
*To attain more dimension to your eyes, line your eyes with a black eyeliner first.*
*Adding a 2nd or 3rd eyeshadow would also create a more interesting eye look.*
The Bobbi Brown Banana matte eyeshadow is pretty much the color of my skin. Maybe it's a tad bit more yellow, but I really like it.
Smoky lash mascara, you could finish up the makeup with false lashes for fuller lashes, but I chose not to use any today. (I don't like to waste my falsies! lol).

I used a different camera (Canon T1i) to take my photos today for this post, and my watermark script wasn't quite compatible with the photo files that's why you see a cut off "dsk" logo.
I got so used to holding the heavy Canon 60D so the light weight Canon T1i was a dream to use!
Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes -- one of my favorite brands for eyeliner pencils!
Make Up For Ever 3L (Blue)
This color is a beautiful dark blue with hints of blue shimmers.
It described by Make Up For Ever as an "Iridescent Navy Blue 3L (navy blue sheen).
You can find it at Sephora here. They come in an array of colors, and retail for $18.

I think the blue eyeliner gives the eyes a subtle colorful summery look.
Foundation is YSL Tient Resist #5 Peach (It smells like cantaloupes and flowers..so strange!)
Powder is MAC Medium Plus Studio Fix (something..the newest one).
Lips: MAC In Synch Lipliner, MAC Lovelorn lipstick with MAC Pastel Emotion lipglass to top.
Blush is Chanel Pink Explosion mixed with a little Cargo Medium Bronze Matte Bronzer.

I didn't do a great job with my eyebrows (since I'm used to using pencil), but I'm all out so I've been using my Anastasia Bruenette eye brow powder (gift from my friend :)). I use the lighter shade. I have very faint eyebrows (born that way). My Mom even shaved my eyebrows as a baby (lots of Vietnamese people do this) so they'd grow out thicker, and darker...but that didn't happen. lol Some Viet people even shave their baby's hair off so it grows out thicker. There's a random cultural fact for you today...lol

I also attempted to try a gradient nail look, but I got carried away and ended up over glittering my nails per usual. I like how it turned out regardless. : )
I used Deborah Lippmann "Ridge Filler" basecoat, OPI "Glitzerland", Orly "Gold Rush", Deborah Lippmann "Boom Boom Pow" (Favorite!), Sephora by OPI "Only Gold for Me," and Seche Vite Top Coat
Here's another photo of the polishes I used. I simply love wearing gold nail polish. I think it compliments my skintone.
You can find the mini size bottles of Orly at selected Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
I always hit up BBB because it's next door to our office building. : ) I love their 20% off coupons too!
Seche Vite is my go to top coat. I find that it gives you the best glossy and smooth finish even over chunky glitter polish.
I can't wait to try a silver variation of this nail "look."
I highly recommend all these gold tone polishes. They won't disappoint you!
DL "Boom Boom Pow"
OPI "Glitzerland"
Orly "Gold Rush"
Sephora by OPI "Only Gold for Me" <-- you must get this! It's one of the best glitters on the market in my opinion. I want to get the silver one soon. It's just always sold out in Sephora stores everytime I go!
Next time I will start at half the nail and work down. I made the mistake of cutting my nails before deciding to try gradient polish too. I really like all the gold polishes, they're not too yellow. I painted my toes the same too and I love it!
(cheesy..I know!) ^_^
Have a great weekend!
