Thinking about Hot Rollers?

After I watched Johnny Lavoy, Ford Model's video on Old Hollywood Glam hair, I want to get some hot rollers! I've never truly tried using them before. If you know me, you know I suck at hair! I didn't discover the hair straightener until I was in 10th or 11th grade! My natural hair is a weird wave / flips in all the wrong directions kind of hair. I'm hoping for my hair to get longer so I bought Crew's conditioner for MEN! lol, my boyfriend's sister Van (who I loveeeeeeee) told me that her hairstylist used Crew's Cooling Mint Conditioner on her every time she went to get her haircut and she noticed a big difference in her hair length. Note she gets her hair done once each month. When I saw her, I noticed how long her hair was! Not only was her hair long, it looks very strong too. lol. So we took a trip to Ulta earlier today in Vancouver and I picked up the Crew Cooling Mint Shampoo & Conditioner. She only uses the conditioner and believes it really has strengthened her hair. I wanted to try the shampoo too just for fun. I figured if I can't use it, I'm sure Minh can since it's men's products.

The large bottle cost $22 at Ulta, the smaller one costs $9.95.
Van said they also carry it at Nordstrom's Rack for a discounted price. I don't have much time to shop so I just wanted to pick it up at Ulta while I was there.

I bought the large bottle conditioner, and the smaller in shampoo. I've never really spent money on shampoo & conditioner before apart from the Japanese products, but those are never over $20 a bottle. Anyhow, I'm going to give it a try, and see how it works out. My hair takes a very long time to grow =/ I kind of regret getting the bob. I really miss my long hair! I think I felt more confident. Anyhow! Back to hot rollers!

Can anyone suggest a good set of hot rollers?

Also, I met Audio Push this past weekend since Minh's brother (owner of Party Prince Entertainment) hired them for his event on Friday night. They're a hip hop group who has the song "Teach Me How to Jerk." They were pretty good, very well rehearsed lol.

It was interesting riding in the van with them..they'd blurt out singing and busting moves..anyhow..yeahhhh I got to meet some rappers. : )

The song is aite..the dance is pretty cool though!

I would love to try out a new look tomorrow, I have yet to organize my makeup! I can't believe how much I've accumulated over the past year. I have an "L" desk now..can't wait to lay it all out (for fun!) ; ) And picture purposes of course ;)

Blast from the Past

I loved this hair cut so much, but I haven't been able to find someone to recreate it! This was me at the morning temple ceremony for my uncle's wedding 3 years ago! I've changed so much!

Love you my fellow bloggers!

  1. What a great "blast from the past" you looked great & still do! Good luck finding rollers! You know I don't do squat with my hair so I'm no help. But my mom growing up, and all my friends to this day all have CONAIR hot rollers. Don't know if that helps!

Ooh mint conditioner? If it's anything like the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Line sign me up! LOL! I love the tingly feeling! LOL!

  4. I use the conair ionic shine (i think that is the name) which I got on sale for 30 bucks a long time ago. It works great! Although, the downside is you have to buy the clip separately. I have no idea how to use the pins that are included with the rollers. The curls are gorgeous and it was really easy to use. Fyi, I hate use curling irons. The most important thing is to simply invest in a good hair spray. I find with my naturally straight asian hair, the curls tend to fall out into waves within an hour, unless I use a good hair spray. I recommend the keratase hair spray...with a green cap. I can't remember the exact name. Hahah. Good luck!

  10. From all of the hair boards that I read a lot of people like the Baby Bliss Hot Rollers. I have one on my wishlist http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10909826&sourceid=1500000000000007346330&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=10909826 (I've never seen it at Wal-Mart but it came up on the google search).
Try Beauty Ticket.com or Ulta :)
