I picked up the Deborah Lippmann "Layer Cake" Nail Color Trio at Nordstrom about 2 weeks ago for $25 : )
I hauled a whole lot of DL polishes, but I haven't had a chance to try them all yet.
So far I've used all 3 of the colors, I really like the purple Wicked Game!
Wicked Game w/ An Enchanted Evening pink glitter on my ring fingerHappy Birthday (glitter) is also amazing. I had that on a few weeks ago. And today I'm wearing the Darker Side of the Moon (deep garnet red) with some OPI's Mad as a Hatter glitter : )
I have the Mad as a Hatter mini OPI bottle from the Alice set, I finally am using it! It feels good :)As you can see I have cut my nails since I broke my thumb nail : /

ReplyDeleteI saw that nail set at Nordstrom this past weekend as well. They're nice, but the bottles are small. I just couldn't get myself to spend $25 plus tax on them. I'd rather pick 3 OPI nail polishes at my local store for $3.75 each with no tax :).

Great post! I have been getting very into nail polishes lately too! I should buy some of the Deborah Lippman to try sometime, especially since the glitter ones are a theme with her collections lately it seems, and I love glitter! Always have :)
LOL I love the birdie that taps on the window. That is REALLY cute!!! :) I wish I had a bird tap on my window... hmm, but I wouldnt be able to open the window since my office windows are sealed.. lol It's still cute though :)
ReplyDeleteWoah, the nail polishes are so nice! :) I don't have a fave one for the fall yet but I experiment with tons of nail colors :p I really like Peach Petal from Revlon, but that was a summer shade :p It still works for me though b/c I am always late with the trends! hehe
The Manolos are freaking nice. Nothing like a striking blue shoe :)

@Mary I just soak the nails in 100% pure acetone, some say it's drying on your fingers, but it doesn't seem to bother me. I just wash my hands with soap after. It works wonders :)

Btw, you have such nice nails.. The shape and length is just perfect!.. I'm sad mine's a bit wonky at the moment.. Maybe it's cos I never give my nails a break from nail polishes? I always apply a thick base coat before the colours. Anyway, my nails are having a rest, so it's just buffing and shine for a couple of weeks... =(

This season...I'd have to say I'm liking my matte colours, though I haven't tried much. I'm more into darker nail polishes like maroon, brown, etc. Or I just opt for the French manicure in different colours!

and LOL I WAS LOOKING AT THOSE MANOLO BLAHNIK's today!!!! they were in the most recent Nordstrom's catalog, right? lol I loved how the rest of the catalog had the items modeled while these shoes were just by themselves. Manolo Blahnik's don't need someone to model them!
did you see the Chanel necklace that was in the Nordstroms catalog too? loved it. oh and they had a gorgeous pair of Gucci, Prada, AND Chanel sunglasses! it was the most drooling i've ever done from a catalog. =(

Deborah Lippman's Waking Up In Vegas + one coat of Dream A Little Dream Of Me is my favorite combo this season! Soooo pretty... Reminds me of when blue skies peek out from behind the drab, gray clouds here in WA lol corny.. But that's just what comes to mind. A sales rep at Nordy's combined the two on a whim while we were trying on the polishes. I fell in love that day....

LPAD was my favorite last year [it's the only nail polish I have where I used up half the bottle LOL], and I still have a place in my heart for it, soooo I HAVE to see if Dark Side of the Moon is a better version!

That is a really pretty shade, the Darker Side of the Moon. It doesn't look like a red, almost like a dark dark purple to me. I have never worn dark shades on my nails before, usually they are sheer or those kinda pale bridal colors. You inspire me to wanna try some. The Birthday glitter looks so retro! Good time to rock it for xmas parties. =D

I try to use color but I just don't think its me because I'm more of natural kind of girl. These polishes had beautiful colors though but still I don't think I would spend that much money on them.
