Mad at Netflix, and Random News

Hey everyone! I have no idea why this desktop won't let me space out my blog post!! Sorry..I will fix it when I get home.
-----
I hope you're having a great Wednesday. Minh and I had a quick bite on The Ave. at Orange King. It's your typical teriyaki, burger joint next to the University of Washington campus (Minh's alma mater). It was like being a college student all over again and eating bad food. harharhar
-----
We stopped by the law school's library to pick up a few books on property law and real estate transactions. I'm going to study in my free time. The more you know, the better right? : )

Today is our first official day at our second office in Everett, WA (small town). It started pouring outside just now, and that made me smile. It's good luck when it rains on an opening day of any business (Vietnamese superstition!) lol. This office is only open for appointments on Wednesday's and Friday's. Too bad we can't clone any of the partners so they can be at multiple offices at once! I'm the temporary free laborer until we fill the part time position. We received over 50 resumes in 2 days from a $25 Craigslist ad the firm posted. Group interview, anyone? lol I learned that Craiglists makes it money by charging businesses / companies to post "help wanted" ads. That's how they stay in business.

Minh and I are trying to plan a trip to Michigan to see my family and our friends, but it's been so hard to find time in our schedules. Minh's a busy bee now-a-days and is going to court every other day it seems. I'm really happy the firm is growing and I'm so proud of the S.O. We just don't take any vacations because we don't have the time to go! We need to fit in the trip before my family visits us in August!

Anyhoo! I was reading Yahoo Shine (their fashion/beauty section) and came across a short article on the Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector serum. It's supposed to be this wonder serum ($50) to fade away dark spots and scars. Has anyone tried it? I actually just got some feedback from my girl friends on twitter yay! One friend said it broke her out, and another friend said it made her skin look amazing before her wedding day. Hmm! That's a toughie! I really want to try it just to see how it will work for me. Hopefully, I can score it with a gift with purchase..(but I also need to calm down with the shopping).

I've been using Bio-oil and really have no complaints. While Minh was on his trip to VN, I didn't leave the house very much and I used it religiously and when he came back he noticed a change in my skin. I believe in Bio-oil. I find it most effective when you just keep it on your face all day (no moisturizer, no makeup). I've been wanting to put together a "my favorite skincare/haircare products" post. I'll work on it and get back to you. : )

In other boring Steph & Minh news, we started Entourage. It's not a bad show, kind of funny..but it doesn't really hook us. We really like True Blood and Drop Dead Diva. We've been following those shows. Did you hear that Netflix wants to split up their instant stream and DVD services? Well, they want to charge separately for them. When we signed up for Netflix it costed us $8/month..then it jumped to $10/month..and now they want $15.98 starting in September. Ahh, so we have decided to cancel the service. We have a Samsung smart TV (best purchase of my life ~ I'd take my TV over a Chanel Jumbo any day!) and just realized that we can watching anything we downloaded on the TV through wifi. It's pretty neat! We have this awesome internet at our apartment called Condo Internet (highly recommend this if you can get it where you live) so we never have a problem with our internet speed.
-----
We did get a Clear mobile internet device, and it's horrible! It is cool to be on the internet on your laptop in the car..but let's be real..how often do you need to surf the web in the car. lol The little modem thinger overheats like no other too. I don't recommend them. The thing about my bf..he loves to spend, spend, spend on tech stuff. Drives me nuts! He also wants to get a BMW X5 (those aren't cheap!). He says I'm the voice of no X5 and holds a grudge against me because I don't agree on the splurge right now. We have 3 dogs..and they go into the lake..run in the dirt..he needs to think about that! lol You know how people are when they start making it..they want to spend it all. -_______- Life is not a fairytale, safe your pennies for a rainy day. :)

In shopping news! I bought a pair of the Nike Air Max 2011 and they're going back to Nordstrom. The quality on the particular pair I recieved was so bad! Flaws everywhere. lol I think I'm cursed! I keep getting imperfect shoes..and I'm not even that picky! lol Remember when Nordstrom mailed me a pair of AGL flats..that did not match? haha
-----
The Nike's were pretty comfortable on though! I ordered half size up to an 8 but it was too loose. Everyone online said to order up, but I feel like they're true to size. I bought my parents both a pair over Father's Day and ordered half size up for them and they say it's fine with socks. Maybe my socks are too thin? Anyhow..I don't think I will be exchanging them. I should really save. Minh got new shoes though, and I told him he needs to return his if he continue to insist I return my things!
-----

I did recieve my two T by Alexander Wang shirts (one racer back tank, and one cardigan). I am so in love with the pima cotton of my cardigan!! It's so soft, and wonderful but I still wouldn't ever pay full price for it. Both items were Made in..Vietnam! lol
-----
I'm going to put myself on a shopping ban..I ordered a YSL foundation from Sephora earlier this week b/c I really wanted the Sephora VIB Make Up For Ever free gift bag! lol I'm a sucker for all marketing. Minh makes fun fo me every time I buy something I saw on a TV! It's true..I drank a 7-Up because of the David Spade 7-Up commercial. I also picked up the popcorn bowl. LOL I don't really even eat microwaved popcorn. :D Anyhow, spending makes our World go round. I just need to save some of it for a casa!
-----
Sorry..there aren't many pictures in this post. I'm at the office on the desktop. I'm a MAC user so it's weird to be on a PC again. lol
We're out! Heading to the mall to return my Nike's..and then to Best Buy because Minh wants to buy things..grr lol

  1. I thought about trying that from Clinique, too, but the mixed reviews on Sephora stopped me. I was too afraid of breaking out. I ended up getting Estee Lauder's new Even Skintone Illuminator, because I thought it would do the same thing and EL's never made me break out. It really worked on me - my skin looks brigther and more even. I used it 2x a day for 2 weeks, and now only wear it at night under my moisturizer. It's the only serum I've ever used that I could actually see results from.

Can't wait to hear about the YSL foundation, I've been contemplating on them and Guerlains. Good luck with the shopping ban :)

  5. Can't wait for your Bio Oil post, really curious to learn what it does for your skin!

Where did you get your Alexander Wang tees from? And yes, pima cotton rocks!! Modal is another one of my favs, feels like cotton spun from clouds, hahahah! I'm not sure how that measures up against the other fabrics but it sure feels awesome!

  6. my aunt has Clinique's dark spot corrector and she says it's been working wonders on her skin but then again most product results vary from person to person. I'm thinking about testing it out next time I need to go buy more cleanser.
