Research Foundation.
glassbaby Evenlyn, how cute is the box & bow? :)
It's great 10% of the sale of each 'Evelyn' candle holder will be going towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I'm happy to be able to blog about another pink product that bring awareness towards the cure. ^_^
The candle holder comes with a little tea light candle to get you started right away!
It takes four Seattle artists, three layers of molten glass and two
thousand degrees to make one glassybaby. Each Evelyn glassybaby is a
vivid pink in color, but since every glassybaby is a unique hand-made
piece of art, each will shine with its own lively, signature glow when
lit.
Partnering with Nordstrom, glassybaby created Evelyn in honor of Evelyn Lauder. Mrs. Lauder founded the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and 10% from the sale of each Evelyn glassybaby will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A giving card is included with each Evelyn glassybaby.
For a limited time, available exclusively in Cosmetics at Nordstrom stores and Beauty on Nordstrom.com.

Glass blowing and glass art is HUGE in Seattle. It's everywhere in our gorgeous city. There are so many talented artists, it's such a treat to be a Seattleite!
Made by hand in Seattle!
I'm finally putting all those free matches to good use!
The amount of glow you get depends on how much water you fill in the candle holder.
The glass and candle really illuminate the room at night.
A CANDLE WITH A CONSCIENCE
Nordstrom and glassybaby partner to
honor Evelyn Lauder with commemorative votive
SEATTLE (May 31, 2012) -- A tip for those seeking go-to gifts for
girlfriends: Reconsider the bath salts and wine, and go for a home-décor good
with a cult following that lets
you indulge your charitable side. Nordstrom and glassybaby have joined forces
to create Evelyn, a vibrant pink glass votive perfect for gifting (and
getting). The best part? 10%
of all purchases will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation,
with an initial donation of $25,000.
The two Seattle-based
companies are partnering to recognize Lauder’s commitment to breast cancer
research and prevention, a cause that hits close to home for Nordstrom.
“We’re proud to partner with
glassybaby to honor the incredible life of Evelyn Lauder, who passed away in
November of last year,” says Laurie Black, Executive Vice President of
Cosmetics at Nordstrom. “This special project allows Nordstrom to honor Evelyn,
as well as our employees and customers, by donating proceeds to the Breast Cancer
Research Foundation.”
glassybaby founder Lee
Rhodes, a three-time cancer survivor, is thrilled Nordstrom is joining them in
their mission of giving. “glassybaby
is all about goodwill and giving back,” she says. “We love that another Seattle
based company is joining us in our mission to donate money from sales back to
charities helping cancer patients.”
The Evelyn glassybaby is available
now for $44 at cosmetics counters in Nordstrom stores nationwide, as well as
online at nordstrom.com. It comes gift-giving-ready adorned with a bow.
glassybaby was founded by a three time cancer survivor who found great
healing in the light of a handmade votive during her battle. She wanted
to spread that light and love. Today, glassybaby has donated more than
$875,000 from sales to charities dedicated to healing, quality of life and
helping cancer patients with day to day needs during chemotherapy. The
handmade votives are created by a team of 70+ artists in more than 400 colors
at a Seattle studio. People give glassybaby as gifts of love,
celebration, consolation and joy.
