"Me" Update!

Hey everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day. ^_^

I drove out to the local QFC to buy some Mega Millions lottery tickets tonight!  The prize amount is half a billion dollars!! Whoa! I think all our lives would become a lot more comfortable with that kind of money. ^_^  If I win, I'll share the winnings with my reader friends who leave a comment in this post up until the drawing time! lol

Last week Thursday, bf won the raffle at Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, Washington!  There must have been over a couple thousand raffle tickets in the bin! It was a really fun day for both of us. He ended up winning $450 cash.  My parents were so excited when they heard the news. lol They're really into casino raffles. Haha, my Mom called me randomly during the work day to remind me to remind bf to buy Mega Millions lottery tickets because he's on a lucky strike!

Winning money sounds so much more fun than earning these days. lol

We're going to visit boyfriend's family this weekend in Vancouver, Washington.  You know, we gotta show Vannie, our bride to be some love in planning her big day with Tony.  We're going to practice some more "engagement photo" makeup.  The woman doesn't like shimmery eyeshadow (she doesn't care for Jill Stuart shadows!!), can you believe it?!  I'm going to practice matte eyeshadow looks on her this weekend using my handy dandy Naked2 Palette by Urban Decay. :)

I just wanted to give you a "me" update!  I am completely obsessed with Instagram!  It's such a great idea and I recently watched Kevin Rose's interview with Kevin Systrom, creator of Instagram!  Check it out!

I've always been a tech nerd fangirl at heart. :) I love Kevin's Foundation series!

I picked up some Essie goodies at Target the other day and I'm in love with the Smooth Trick, Deep-Conditioning Cuticle Oil!  The packaging is genius and it's really the best $7.79 I've spent in a long time. :)  I will get into more detail in a few weeks.  I use it all the time!  It's just super easy to use, and mess free. My cuticles look and feel amazing. :)  I have yet to try the Disappearing Trick, but if my friend Holly uses it, I know it's good (and its also the reason I went to buy it)!  Check out her nail video here. :D

I leave you with some photos from today.
My Instagram is DSKJewelry, surprise, surprise. :)
 Sleeping cutie!!
I always start my morning with these two lovely ladies, Kathie Lee & Hoda.
I love them!

Nicole by OPI: "LIGHTS, KIM-ERA, ACTION!"

Nicole by OPI: "LIGHTS, KIM-ERA, ACTION!"
A screen-stealing shimmering pearl.
This shade is one of the four new Target exclusive additions to the Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor Collection available now! :D
With flash.

You can't tell from the photo but there is a lot of green and gold iridescent shimmer in this polish.
It does remind me a lot of a pearl.  It applies beautifully and it's one of those very flattering polishes. The sparkle hides all nail imperfections. ^_^ Two thin coats does the trick for this one!

In dim light, no flash.

Nicole by OPI Introduces NEW Kardashian Kolor Nail Lacquers, Inspired by Kim Kardashian

Nicole by OPI announces the launch of Wel-Kim to My World, a collection of new nail lacquers inspired by Kim Kardashian.  The line features six pastel-hued shades in white, pink, blue and honey tones that give nails a subtle pop of color. Lacquers Lights, Kim-era, Action! and Here Kim’s the Sun feature glitter and opalescent shimmer to create an added element of glitz.
“These six new lacquers really showcase Kim’s flirty, feminine side,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Kim often wears pink, white and other softer-toned shades; these colors are great for creating a classic, elegant look that works day or night.”
The Wel-Kim to My World shades include:

Here Kim’s the Sun
Brighten up your day with this opalescent sparkle.

Kim Konfidential
A honey-nude so stunning, it should be "klassified.”

Up & Kim-ing Pink

Get in line! This cotton candy pink is THE pink of the season.

Nothing Kim-pares to Blue
There just isn’t another hue like this lovely lilac-blue.

Lights, Kim-era, Action!
A screen-stealing shimmering pearl.

Others Pale By Kim-parison
This breathtaking white is the fairest of them all.

“Spring is the perfect time to add lighter tones to your look,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “Candy-coated colors in pastel shades are always popular during this season. These ladylike hues look great with the blousy tops and frothy dresses that walked the runways for spring.”

OPI: "Pirouette My Whistle" and "You Callin' Me A Lyre?"

"Pirouette My Whistle" over top "You Callin' Me A Lyre?"
New York City Ballet by OPI
Available everywhere April 2012!
"You Callin' Me A Lyre?" I absolutely love the jelly formula!
"Pirouette My Whistle" was just too pretty I had to paint them all!
I think "You Callin' Me A Lyre?" would look amazing with one coat under a French manicure!
I have a feeling this color is going to be a wedding favorite. :)
I am so happy with my sparkly nails for Spring!
They remind me of the gel crystal nails you get at the salon.
While Wally was at the groomer's, Timmy and I went on a long walk. ^_^
Let's go!
We couldn't believe there was sunshine today!
Timmy likes his pink leash, okay? :)

Black Chanel Eyelash Curler

I've had this eyelash curler for nearly half a year now. I use it everyday because it's the only eyelash curler I can find in my makeup stash. lol

Do I love it? No, but it is the most stylish lash curler I own to date! I do like how it comes with two extra refill pads. In terms of function, it's very average. It's not spectacular as my (lost) Shu Uemura, however it definitely gets extra points for beauty.

All-in-all, I do not recommend the Chanel Precision Eyelash Curler because of the $34 price tag.
You can get an amazing lash curler from Shiseido for $19 or Shu Uemura for $20.
I've owned both in the past, and the MAC eyelash curler. The Shiseido and Shu are close to being equals in my mind. : )

OPI: "THANKS A WINDMILLION"

"Thanks A Windmillion" by OPI is the perfect sea foam green!
It's a creme polish and applies super easy and beautifully in 2 coats. It's a few shades lighter than the famous "Mermaid's Tears" from the OPI Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger's Tide Collection. :) Check out swatches of "Mermaid's Tears" at my friend Kae's amazing nail blog, here.

Video!

OPI says, "You totally deserve this sea green!"
I think this polish is one of the most popular (must haves) from the OPI Holland Collection for Spring/Summer 2012. What do you think? :)

I say get it!

OPI "Kiss Me On My Tulips"

OPI "Kiss Me On My Tulips" from the Holland Collection is a feisty magenta pink with blue undertones. It reminds me a lot of Nicole by OPI "All Kendall-ed Up" (see my swatch here!) from the Kardashian Kolor Collection. I do like "Kiss Me On My Tulips" just a tiny bit more! This polish unique pink polish applies bright pink, but slowly darkens to a gorgeous magenta as it dries. Overall, this color has my Summer stamp of approval!

I went almond! I'm still getting used to my new shape, and I'm working my way to claws!
You may just see some edgy "claws" when I share my Nicki Minaj swatches. :)
The "couture claw" nail trend has become quite popular recently! You can see them on Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Fergie, and Katy Perry to name a few famous gals. This trend is not for everyone! My friend Marisa tells me she's going to chop my fingers off. LOL

It's definitely a very unique nail art trend though!
Did you pick up any nail polishes from the Holland Collection by OPI?
If so, share them below!

OPI Partners with New York City Ballet to Reveal Six New SoftShades Nail Lacquers

OPI announces the launch of six new additions to the SoftShades collection, inspired by the New York City Ballet (NYCB), one of the world’s premiere dance companies. New York City Ballet by OPI features five sheer shades lightly tinged in hues of beige, pink, white, lilac and gray, as well as a silver sparkly lacquer. With various sized glitter particles, this hue can be worn alone or layered over any of the other colors for added shine and dimension.

OPI is so excited to work with the New York City Ballet,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “NYCB is rich with artistic history and has a renowned reputation that brings people from around the world to see NYCB performances. The dancers, choreography and costumes provided a wealth of inspiration for a range of soft, feminine hues. The beige, pink, and white lacquers bring to mind classic ballet slippers, tutus and leotards, while the sheer lilac and gray add muted color to ballet’s traditional pink.”

“One of our goals at NYCB is to make ballet accessible to the widest possible public,” remarks Katherine E. Brown, NYCB Executive Director. “We are thrilled to be partnering with OPI on this exciting new endeavor, sharing the beauty and elegance of NYCB with a new audience.”
